Hello, everyone! My name is Leah Smith. This is my second term as the 1st VP! My husband and I are a blended family with 5 children, and we recently became first time grandparents! The oldest three are my 28-, 27- and 23-year old’s, next in line is my bonus son who is 10 and rounding out the group is our youngest at 8. He is a 3rd grader, and this school year begins our third year as Sunderland Seahawks. I have been serving in the Army for over 12 years, spending the first 6 years on Active Duty and now as a Reservist. Whenever I get a free moment, I spend it hiking around the area, looking for new campsites, reading a new book or traveling as much as possible. I love to meet new people, experience different cultures and see as much of this lovely world as I can.

I grew up in a very small town in Georgia, and when I say very small, I mean it! My high school graduating class consisted of 41 students and we had one traffic light! Now it is a thriving metropolis with two lights! ;) As an adult who has moved around quite a bit, I realized how much I had missed those connections with being part of a community. So here I am, planting some new roots in Calvert County and ready to become a part of our wonderful school family. I am super excited to help build our FSO with all of you! Like our wonderful FSO President, I'm a huge extrovert, so please send me an email or better yet, say hello if you see me. I’d love to meet you! And I'll leave you with this, Go ARMY; BEAT NavyGo Dawgs!

Feel free to shoot me an email at sesfsofirstvicepresident@gmail.com or text me at 865-228-7798.

Jamie Silva - 1st Vice President

Hello everyone! My name is Jamie Silva, serving my first year as First Vice President. I am so excited to be joining such an amazing organization and I am looking forward to an amazing year here with you all.

I was born and raised in P.G. County and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School. Shortly after, I began my career within the medical field. My husband, Steven Silva, and I got married and moved to Lusby in 2007. In 2015 after many years of trying to have children of our own we welcomed twin girls- Aubrey and Makena, and there has never been a dull moment since. They are now almost 8yrs old and 2nd graders here at Sunderland. It was then that I decided to leave the medical field and devote my time to raising our girls and to care for my elderly father-in-law. We purchased a new home in Huntingtown in 2018 and then…..Surprise! A few months later we were blessed and welcomed another baby girl, Stella. She is 4yrs old and just began pre-K at Sunderland. My passion is and will always be my family! I consider Sunderland our school family, so I am here to support the wonderful families, teachers, and staff any way that I can. I am so excited to jump in and make this a memorable year for us all! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns @ 301-520-7531.

Hannah Stanislawski- Secretary

Hello everyone! My name is Hannah Stanislawski and this is my first year as Secretary of the FSO. We joined this community last year when we moved here from Palmdale, California. I live here with my husband, Darren, our three remarkable children, seven-year-old Andrew and five-year-old twins Grant and Lincoln as well as my wonderful sibling, June.

I was born and raised in California. My husband and I married in 2015. We welcomed Andew in 2016 and life was simple! Since life was so easy with one child we figured, “what’s one more?” When one more split into two identical boys who fought so unbelievably hard to thrive our life became a tad bit more complicated. Grant and Lincoln were born at 27 weeks after weeks of complications and spent the first three months of their lives in the hospital. When they finally came home Grant was on oxygen and both boys had fragile immune systems. That meant no working for myself while I spent their first two years keeping them isolated. And then in 2020 when they turned two, the pandemic hit, and we spent another year and half in isolation.

Finally in 2022 all three boys were able to go back to school in person and work to catch up with their peers. We moved to Sunderland in September last year and the Calvert County school system immediately helped us find the perfect placement for our boys. Grant and Lincoln learned SO much last year in pre-k and are now thriving in kindergarten. Andrew has loved every moment of school here and is enjoying second grade. Our family feels so lucky to have joined such an amazing community. I look forward to getting to know everyone this year!! Thank you for having me!

Hey hi, I'm Samantha Manley, but you can call me Sam! This is my 2nd year at Sunderland, but my first as a board member. We moved from Arizona at the end of summer 2022 and have really enjoyed living in a place that has seasons! I'm a stay at home mom of two girls, Lilly who is a 2nd grader and Norah who is a preschooler. I grew up in AZ and spent about 7 years living in Washington state where I was an aerospace engineer with Boeing specializing in structures and propulsion systems. I met my husband, Nick, not long after I moved to WA and now we're coming up on a decade of marriage! We have been pretty nomadic over the last decade and have finally decided to settle in Calvert County for the foreseeable future - but you never know when we might get that "itch" to explore another place!

We are very active in the Girl Scouts, as a family, and finding many ways to volunteer in our community. You may see my name and face at lot outside of my FSO role recruiting and organizing troops for Girl Scouts or even leading a Brownie meeting at the school for my oldest. I grew up in Girl Scouts and I absolutely love being able to share this experience with my girls. I spend a lot of my free time crocheting, it is my absolute favorite way to decompress and relax. Outside of that, you can normally find us gardening, exploring Maryland and gaming...we are a very big gaming family, board, card and computer. :)

I can't wait to get to know the Seahawk community even more as my girls make their way through elementary school!
